The 90-year-old piano at the Murringo Hall has been saved from the scrap heap with the Murringo Community Association’s decision to turn it into a piece of art the whole village can enjoy.
Local artist Bev Walker was commissioned to take on the task turning the dilapidated and crumbling instrument and making it something beautiful once again.
On Saturday morning members of the Murringo community gathered to install the cabinet that will protect the artwork ensuring that future generations will be able to enjoy the piano originally built in the 1920s.
Mrs Walker finished her masterpiece earlier this week with the piano sculpture now on display in the Murringo Hall.
The sculpture will now reside in the entrance of the Hall not only for the village but the extended community to enjoy into the future.
