There was a petting zoo that featured ponies, birds, goats, geese, ducks, rabbits, a donkey and a ferret. There were dagwood dogs, freshly made fairy floss and donuts, free showbags, giveaways, prizes galore, face painting, a cake stall, jumping castle, Marshall from Paw Patrol as well as demonstrations and games with the NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Fire and Rescue squad, plus the chance to see inside a real Highway Patrol police car.
Schools from across the region performed throughout the day including, Young North Public School, the Young Regional School of Music, Maimuru Public School, St Mary’s Primary School, Leanne Sims Academy of Dance and many others.
The face painting was as popular as always with many children transformed into fairytale creatures, animals or superheros.
The demonstrations were very popular with children and adults alike mesmerised by the display of what can happen when a saucepan is left unattended on a stove and how to deal with it.
Hundreds of children and their adult counterparts attended the event in the Donges Supa IGA carpark.
It was a fantastic day with lots to do and all for a great cause with the funds raised on the day going to local school’s and charity.
