On Saturday the Golf Club hosted the Mercy Care Charity event with proceeds from the day to be used to do necessary work on the pallative care rooms at Mercy Care.

President of the Mercy Care Auxillary Mrs Joyce Cavanagh with helpers ran the BBQ and was pleased with the support from players.
Thanks to Peter Greaves and Brian Norman for their contribution to the trophies. We had 70 players participate.
The event was played in three divisions with the winning men’s pair Col Miller and Andrew Miller with 59 nett.
The winning ladies team was Liz Harding and Leanne Slater with 66.75 nett and the winnnig mixed pair was Peter Campbell and Sandy Pronk with 58 nett.
The nearest the pin winners were Bill Oliver, Andrew Miller, Cathy Aiken and Tilla Davis. Straight drive winners were Mark McCormick and Maxine McCormack.
Next Saturday’s event is a single stableford sponsored by Gary Anderson, Aaron Moloney and Darcy Whinam.
Sunday’s event will be a medley ball sweepstakes stableford.
The men’s foursomes championship will be played on Sunday October 22 so as not to clash with the Young Show.
According to the grapevine the approval for the amalgamation of the golf club and Services Club is almost over the line.
Players need to note that the out of bounds on the left hand side of the 15th fairway has been changed slightly.
It is planned to start the Daylight Savings teams competition the second week in October.
