The Two Bowl Triples mini–tournament held at the Young Bowling Club on Saturday was very successful – twelve competitive teams and except for a very cool breeze almost perfect playing conditions.
The event consisted of four games of 14 ends and none of the teams was able to win all four games.
The winning team – Shane McKeller, Graeme Rossiter and Terry Rickets – won three games and had an overall margin of 15 shots.
Very close behind them were Michael Webb, Ian Schofield and Tom Preston who also won three games and had a margin of 14 shots.
In third place were James Freudenstein, Tony Ruhl and David Ward who won three games and had a margin of just one shot while Mick Manning, Peter Slater and Denis Rosen had two wins and a draw to finish fourth.
Thursday afternoon bowls
Numbers for Thursday afternoon bowls were lower than usual with only 14 players involved.
Aldo Malvicino, Colin Powell and Ian Schofield were the winners of the vouchers with a margin of 12 shots.
Sunday morning bowls
Sunday morning saw twelve players on the green.
B Allen, Michel Alavoine and Joe Read were the winners for the morning with a score of 14 points.
Inter-Zone Sides Championships
Damien Miller and David Quigley played for Zone 8 in the RNSWBA Inter–Zone Sides Championships played at Port Macquarie over the weekend.
In their sectional games the Zone 8 side drew 57–57 with Zone 3, lost 44–65 to Zone 13 and lost 53–61 to Zone 9.
The Zone 13 side won their semi–final and will play Zone 12 in the final.
Boorowa President’s Day
Thanks to those players who were part of the club team and the district team at Boorowa Recreation Club’s President’s Day on Sunday.
Social Bowls
Two different social groups were involved in bowls over the weekend.
The children from one group enjoyed playing with the lightweight Jack Attack bowls.
Both groups had dinner at the club afterwards.
Club reminder
Players are reminded that for the Club Fours Championship close on Sunday September 24.
All bowling members are advised that copies of the club’s Annual Report are available for collection at the club.
Nomination form for the club’s Board of Directors and the Men’s Bowls Committee are on the notice–board and entries for both close on Tuesday September 19.
