Pauline from France won the women’s division and confessed her only thought was winning.
“I am here picking cherries and today was a day off so I had to earn money in a different way,” she said.
When asked what her strategy was going into the final Pauline said, “winning!”
Men’s winner Ben Wilkinson was confident going into the final after claiming victory in previous years.
“This is probably my fifth victory in six years,” he said.
“My strategy was to just get the pie in my mouth as fast as I could and stand up before the rest of the competitors.”
It was up to local lad Matthew Murphy to fly the flag for Young in the junior division.
Matt’s strategy was pretty simple but effective.
“I just went eat-drink-eat-drink and I’ve got the win,” he said.
“I was up against my brother in the final so I’ll give him 20 bucks from my winnings.”
