General Manager Anthony McMahon said under the waste voucher scheme, ratepayers will receive two vouchers, making them eligible to dispose of certain types of waste for free. It’s hoped the vouchers will help reduce incidents of illegal dumping in the region.
“The waste voucher scheme means Hilltops households will be able to use the tip free-of-charge on two different occasions to get rid of either their general waste, green waste or bulky goods like mattresses and lounges,” he said.
Vouchers will be valid until July 2018. Any rate-payer who has not received a voucher for their property (or properties) should contact Hilltops Council on (02) 6380 1200.
Mr McMahon said residents in Young and Boorowa will also notice new garbage trucks making their way through the streets, as Council’s new waste contractors commence operations.
