Additionally there were a number of prizes for card draws.
“Thanks to John Powderly for his sponsorship,” Young Golf Club’s Bill Kearney said.
There were 59 players who took part which Mr Kearney said was good considering it is the middle of school holidays with plenty of tennis and cricket on the television.
The winners from Saturday’s event were:
A grade – Dean Schofield, Bill Oliver and Mark Crutcher.
In B grade – Adrian Hanrahan, Darryl Brown and Daniel Cartwright shared 'the booty'.
In C grade – Brendan Croese, Russ Healey and Craig Watson 'took home the bacon'.
Next Saturday on course
Next Saturday the club will host an event which will be sponsored by Garry 'O' Nicolls, Peter Campbell and Simon Murray.
Next Sunday play
Next Sunday Young Golf Club will be hosting the second round of the Scott Fuller teams event with visitors travelling from Gundagai and Cootamundra to take part.
The event will be a Four Ball medley with ladies locally and further afield welcome to play.
Those interested are asked to put their name on the tee sheet in the pro-shop.
“We really need to put up a good showing,” Mr Kearney said.
“Ladies are most welcome to play.”
The Scott Fuller event will kick off at 10.00am with a shotgun start.
Australia Day weekend
On the Friday January 26 we are holding a medley stableford with the Australia Day Medal event on Saturday January 27.
The 2018 sponsors for the Australia Day event are Blooms the Chemist, Langs Pools and Spas and Kay McDonald Trophies.
The medley stableford is open for both men and women.
On Sunday January 28 the club are hosting a Four Person Open Ambrose as a fundraiser for the local Community Chest organisation.
“We are hopeful of good numbers of players to take part,” Mr Kearney said.
Individual players can nominate with the pro-shop and they will be placed in a team.
Active Kids on the greens
The NSW Government are introducing a program to encourage children to participate in sport.
Golf is included in the program and our professional Bryce Mawhinney will be running individual and group lessons.
The program starts at the end of January and all the information is available on the NSW Active Kids website.
