Freeman’s Vineyard near Kingsvale featured in the American magazine Robert Parker Wine Advocate with its flagship Freeman Robusta Corvina 2012 given a 94 point rating and the vineyard’s range described as “some of the most compelling Italianate wines I’ve ever tasted from the New World,” by Wine Advocate Australian wine specialist Joe Czerwinski.
Mr Czerwinski rated six of the wines over 90 points.
According to Freeman winemaker Brian Freeman it is the first time a prominent American wine writer has visited the Hilltops region.
“The Wine Advocate coverage of the Hilltops and our Italian inspired portforlio is exciting,” he said.
“It will certainly help put this region on the radar for interested US wine importers.”
Before Mr Freeman set up his vineyard near Kingsvale he had previously been a professor of Wine Science at Charles Sturt University in Wagga.
