The Department of Primary Industries will be hosting a forum in Wagga to help inform the draft Australian Welfare Standards and Guidelines for Poultry.
Former NSW Chief Veterinary Officer Ian Roth will host the session to be held in Wagga.
The draft standard covers welfare issues including nutrition, housing, animal husbandry, biosecurity and on-farm management.
“I encourage anyone with a view on poultry welfare to attend the meeting and be part of a productive discussion,” Dr Roth said.
Feedback can also be provided online via the NSW Department of Primary Industry’s website for those that can’t attend by going to https://www.research.net/r/NSWpoultrystandards.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday at the Mantra Pavilion in Wagga Wagga from 12-2pm on February 20 with anyone from the community invited to attend.
