Mr Smedon has accepted an offer to lead the Batemans Bay Primary School from next term. Mr Smerdon was respected in Young as a passionate and innovative educator.

“It has been a great honour and pleasure to serve the Young North Primary School community and more broadly the community of Young,” Mr Smerdon said.

“I have learnt much as a professional and more broadly as a person through my work with the most wonderful team one could hope to work with. “I leave YNPS as a school that is respected system wide for its well-being and learning programs. Most exciting of all is that I know that Mrs Angela Gay (acting Principal) and the rest of the school’s teaching and support staff with continue to grow and expand the school’s programs and impact on student learning outcomes moving forward as I commence as Principal at Batemans Bay PS next term.”
