This coming weekend, the Young Motorcycle Club will play host to Round Four of the King Of MX NSW State Title Qualifier. The Committee have worked tirelessly to have the track and facilities in prime condition for this weekend’s events.
“It’s a massive event for a small country Club like ours.” YMCC committee and sponsorship delegate Jon Brownlie said. “We have a small group of dedicated volunteers who give their all every round to make the Club a great place to ride.”
This weekend the Qualifier will have riders from four-years-of-age right through to the 35+ veterans class, and a number of dedicated Girls / Female only classes.
Saturday will kick off with the Juniors taking to the track around 9am for qualifying practice and from there riders will be seeded by times and into qualifying positions.
“There are riders coming from all over the eastern side of Australia, from Roma (QLD) right down to Launceston (TAS) to compete this weekend,” Jon said.
Sunday will be the Seniors time to shine with the same format as the Juniors with qualifying practice, ultimately giving them the gate pick for the main events throughout the day.
Both Junior and Senior riders will race three races throughout the course of the day, with the top six places across all classes being awarded the ‘Golden Ticket’ to the final later in the year.
So, if you are looking for something to do this weekend, bring the family out to the track and support our local riders as they strive to achieve that elusive ‘Golden Ticket’.
Full canteen facilities will be operation over both days, servicing a full range of hot and cold drinks and food.
The YMCC would also like to say a big thank you to Barry, Anne and Gerard Hambrook from Tyrepower Young for staying on board as the club’s major sponsor for the year.
The next round of the Tyrepower Young Championships will be Round Two on Sunday May 6 2018.
