With the squad nearing full returns, some miscommunication and poor ball security in the first half gave Peak Hill the early lead. The momentum was all the Bears way in the second half until a series of three consecutive incomplete sets invited Peak Hill into good field position.
“Not one of our players had a bad game, we were very unlucky to not come away with the two points this week, but I am absolutely proud of the turnaround in the defensive efforts and the attacking formations this week,” coach Ray Spring said. “I am quite confident that as long as we stick to our structure we will be reaping the rewards very soon.”
Tries went to Sienna Bloor on debut, Hannah Hetherington and Priscilla Edgerton while Isabelle Douglas converted three goals. Best and fairest went to Sienna Bloor (3), Priscilla Edgerton (2) and Nicola Hambilton (1) who has returned from injury. Hannah Hetherington was named player’s player.
