Peter and Emma have worked tirelessly over the past several years and turned the loss of their 15-month-old daughter into something wonderful by educating the community of the dangers surrounding Low Speed Vehicle Rollovers and establishing the Georgina Josephine Foundation to help others who have gone through what they have and to prevent it from happening to others.

Last month Peter and Emma travelled to Sydney where they took part in the recording of SBS’s Insight program which addressed ‘what happens when you feel responsible for an accidental death?’ with the program appearing on air on Tuesday night.

The moving episode focused on the stories of Peter, Emma and three other individuals who all had separate and different stories on accidents they were involved in that resulted in the death of individuals.

The program begins the Cockburns asked to recount the day Georgy died.

“I’d come home and I reversed my tool trailer in to the garage and unfortunately my little girl was actually in that garage. I didn’t see her and I went straight over her, I felt a bump and instantly realised that it didn’t feel right,” Peter said. “I ran behind the car, and I saw my little girl laying on the ground and my worst nightmare had come true.”

The start of the program was shocking for some viewers, however it was nothing compared to the emotional pain and trauma that all of the panel as a whole had gone through. The couple went on to describe the events that transpired afterwards with Emma attempting CPR, being taken to Young Hospital. In the episode both Peter and Emma described how they still to this day hold themselves responsible for the accident and how something as positive as the Georgina Josephine Foundation came out of the tragedy.
