In the heat and with defence less than up to standard the Cherrypickers handed over too many penalties allowing Temora to take home the win.
The Cherrypickers gave away a couple of silly penalties according to coach James Woolford who said the mistake put the local side on the back foot from early on and put extra pressure on the players to make up for their shortcomings.
“The players are trying hard,” Woolford said. “They’re just not executing properly and we’re putting pressure on ourselves.”
The boys will work on their errors at training over the next week and look to improve moving forward in the competition.
Next week the Cherrypickers will travel to Gundagai to take on the Tigers for round three.
Woolford said the home ground advantage for the Tigers will be something to be wary of.
“Playing Gundagai at home we need to make sure we’re ready to go as they too are 0-2 to start the year.”
