Consigning the Cherrypickers to five losses to start the year, the Bulls flew out of the blocks to take a 24-0 lead at half-time.

Young did close the margin to 14 points in the second stanza before the Bulls clicked back into gear to score another emphatic victory.

Captain-coach Kyle McCarthy was particularly pleased with the first half.

“It was really good, we played really up tempo and sort of blew them off the park,” McCarthy said.

“That was the best part.”

McCarthy said the team was a bit lackadaisical in the first 10 minutes of the second half before responding.

Fullback Jake Dooley lead the way crossing for Southcity crossing for a hat-trick in the first half before bringing up his fourth later in the day.

It doubles his total and lifts his to the top of the Group Nine tryscorers list this season.

After losing former coach Nick Skinner last week, the Bulls came through unscathed on the injury front.
