Young Local Court registrar James McLeod refused the 41-year-old bail on the grounds of his history and he being deemed a flight risk.
Mr Edwards was wanted on a warrant after he had failed to appear in Young Local Court to face a charge of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception.
Magistrate Michael O’Brien had convicted Mr Edwards in his absence and issued a warrant for his arrest.
Mr Edwards will appear in Young Local Court on Tuesday May 22 via audio-visual link from Junee Correctional Facility to face sentencing for the matter.
Mr Edwards was accused of defrauding a woman he had sold a greyhound pup.
According to police the woman became suspicious after the dog she had believed was hers suddenly started being raced very successfully under a different name, with the dog going on to win $35,340 in prize money.
