The special guests were Young TAFE’s Melissa Green and Young and Harden Rotary’s Robert Scott, Rita O’Connor and Jan Martin.
Ms Green spoke on TAFE’s spoken and written English component as part of its Adult Literacy Course. Copies of the ‘improve your written and spoken English at TAFE’ course synopsis were left for members to take a look at.
YADMA president Josie Johnson then introduced Mr Scott, Mrs O’Connor and Ms Martin from Rotary as a follow up on the RDAS presentation at the last meeting.
Harden Rotary president elect Mr Scott said that he was was very impressed at the last meeting when he was a visitor and had reported to his District Governor and Young’s president Mrs Martin. There was a favourable response from Rotary for YADMA to become a Rotary Community Corp to be discussed with the district governor on Friday May 18.
The bus trip to Wagga on June 30 was discussed with a tentative program and costing initiated and to be finalised in June.
The Regional Disability Advocacy Service meeting was discussed and everybody invited to participate at the Hub on May 11.
Hilltops Counil presented a cheque for $500 on Thursday April 26. Vice president Haroon Muhammad received it from Mayor Brian Ingram.
The next meeting for YADMA will be held on June 12 at Young Town Hall starting from 2pm.
