Young Mobile Play runs a Koori group at Young North Hall every second Thursday from 9.30- 11.30.
Young Mobile Play Coordinator Sharen Shoard said they would love to build relationships with the Koori families within the community.
“This NAIDOC Grant has allowed Young Mobile Play Activities to be independent this year, allowing us to and continue to celebrate Naidoc week with not only our Koori families but all our families at playgroup, in the schools and community,” she said. “The morning will begin with a free morning tea. There will be about eight stations set up with culturally appropriate activities for both young children and school-aged children to participate in.
“Activities such as dot painting, making Aboriginal flags, paper plate emus, Gumnut and coloured macaroni, bracelet and necklace threading, painting on goannas and gum leaves.”
Young Mobile Play is celebrating NAIDOC Day on Thursday, July 26 at the Young North Hall from 10 am to 12.30 pm.
