Sometimes parties are planned around the weekend that have as its centerpiece the piled up old debris, furniture that is no longer wanted, rubbish and anything else that can be heaped up and lit on fire to keep party goers warm into the early morning.
For other people it merely a weekend of convenience where they have time to burn off logs, debris and other items around properties to clean up.
Kids love it, families come home smelling of smoke and covered in mud, no matter how you go about it, it makes the long weekend in June fun.
