According to Temora police two passengers have been hospitalised after a hot air balloon landed heavily in a paddock in the state’s south on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to a paddock on Tara-Bectric Road, at Bectric, about 30km south east of Temora, about 9.15am on Monday June 11, 2018, responding to reports a hot air balloon had been dragged for approximately 50 metres after landing heavily in strong winds.

A 48-year-old woman was treated for leg and facial injuries and a 10-year-old girl was treated for a fractured arm and facial injuries.

Both were transported to Temora Hospital. Emergency service officers indicated their injures were not considered life-threatening.

The pilot and a third passenger were uninjured during the landing.

Police said the Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified.
