Young Women’s Bowls team through to state

The ladies from Young Women’s Bowling Club have made it to the State Championships.

Congratulations to Therese Ruhl, Mary Bennett, Kate Cooper and Margo Parker, the Open Fours Team from Young, now off to the State Championship Playoffs in September at Taren Point after their win in the Regional Fours in Temora on Tuesday and Wednesday last week.

The ladies had a close win over Wagga Rules 20/19 on Tuesday morning and played Temora Rec with a convincing win 28/9 on Wednesday morning. Young had two wins with a +20, Wagga Rules had one win with a +21 and Temora was -22.

In the Senior Fours Wagga Rules won with two wins + 44, Condobolin was second with one win -3, and Cootamundra Ex Services was Third with minus 41.

Great weather was enjoyed by players and spectators alike many who had travelled a good distance to follow their teams.

There was a great roll up for both days to witness the great bowls played by the Young team. Thanks to Elsie Hines for her report.
