“We’re halfway through Steph Cooke’s term as Member for Cootamundra and Young Police Station is still waiting for an upgrade,” Mr Stadtmiller said.
“Ms Cooke fought last years by-election saying that there would be more Police, not less - but how can Police numbers increase without additional funding?”
According to Mr Stadtmiller the current station is split in half on either side of the road and Young Police Station was not featured in the recent state budget.
“Ms Cooke's predecessor, Katrina Hodgkinson, had also promised an upgrade of Young Police Station for nearly a decade, but nothing was ever done,” Mr Stadtmiller said.
“The Police Association is calling for another 2,500 Police officers, but the best the National Party can do is give us 100 more officers. It’s not good enough.”
