There were celebrations galore with the official opening held on Wednesday night, a special commemoration booklet available for purchase as well as hats and coffee mugs.
The riders – and some parents and instructors – were very impressed with the commemorative jumpers they ordered prior to camp.
After almost a week of troop drill, showjumping, polocrosse, equitation, dressage, sporting, campdrafting, demonstrations and more the kids, parents, volunteers and instructors are all exhausted, but have said that it is a good exhaustion.
On Sunday the children were split into their troops where they have now made plenty of new friends, relationships which will carry through for years to come, even through competition.
The evenings were packed with plenty of activities too including browband making classes given by Juliet Jones from Swish Browbands in Young, an informative talk given by the developer of a new and highly successful horse supplement, GT Performer, Dr Geoff Tyre, there were bareback showjumping demonstrations, a trivia night which was won by the Tig Bitties group, Young Pony Club has Talent and a disco.
Young Pony Club camp will finish up for 2018 around 4pm on Friday afternoon at the Young Showground.
