Despite the terrible weather on the day, Young Hospital Auxiliary President Janice Ward says it’s the most successful Soup Day the group has ever hosted.
“We had more people than ever before,” she said.
“More than 160 people, it was the most successful ever and the most people ever.”
Mrs Ward said they did not anticipate how popular the day would be.
“As people left, more people would come in,” she said.
“It was very cosy in the Town Hall with people enjoying beautiful soups and slices and chatting with friends.”
A gift basket donated by Auxiliary members went to Jan Richard as a raffle prize.
Also donated was a soup maker from Harvey Norman which was won by Pat Gurney. Hilltops Fruit Barn also donated a fruit and vegetable hamper.
Thanks to those members and non-members who helped on the day.
