The R U OK Campaign Convoy visits Young to help raise awareness

The ‘R U OK’ convoy has been travelling around Australia for their 10th ongoing year.

The campaign made an appearance in Young last Monday, September 10 at Anderson Park,

The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness in regards to depression and the steps you can take to help someone who may be in need.

The Steps are:

  • Ask R U OK?
  • Listen without judgement.
  • Encourage action.
  • Check in.

Campaign Director, Katherine Newton is passionate about the message the Campaign puts out into the communities they visit.

“We go to as many rural communities as we can to empower people to ask the question and more importantly, know what to do when someone answers, No, i’m not OK.” Ms Newton Said.

Ambassador and Musician, James Van Cooper was lucky enough to have had the help he had once needed and now he wants to help give back to those facing situations to what he once had.
