A Young man who punched a witness, destroyed a door and interfered with police executing their duty has narrowly escaped prison.

Lucas Alexander Rudd, 29, appeared at Young Local Court on a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm, destroy property and hinder police stemming from two separate incidents in May and June this year.
He was arrested on May 25 after smashing a glass panel of a door and punching a witness.
Police say he was intoxicated when the incident occurred.
In June, Rudd prevented the arrest of a woman on Wombat Street and, as a result, he was hit with capsicum spray.
For the assault and destroy property he was sentenced to eight months in prison to be served by way of an intensive corrections order.
He’ll also be subject to a conditional release order for 12 months.
Community service
A Young man has been ordered to complete 70 hours community service.
Thirty-one-year-old Richard John Groth was convicted at Young Local Court on a charge of assault and breaches of bonds.
He was charged with assault in December last year putting him in breach of bonds he received for drink driving and assaulting a cop.
“Aggravating the offence is that he was on two section nine bonds, once in which is for an assault against a police officer,” Magistrate Iman Abdul-Karim noted.

The offence occurred about 5.30pm on December 19, 2017.
Solicitor for Groth, Mr Vo, highlighted that his client had remained out of trouble for almost a year.
“There’s been no further incident,” he said.
He’ll be on a community corrections order for 12 months.
