Governor of New South Wales David Hurley and Mrs Linda Hurley visited Young last Thursday and Friday to get an in person experience of the hard working community operations within our small town.

Governor Hurley and Mrs Hurley started their visit at the School of Music on Thursday afternoon, engaging with musicians and getting an understanding of musical culture in Young before heading to the PCYC to review the driving simulator.
Later that night the pair hosted a Vice Regal Reception to meet and thank a wide range of local community members.

On Friday, the Governor and his wife were given a tour through the various facilities at Lambing Flat Enterprise.
It was a busy morning for the Governor at the LFE main office, reviewing a presentation on the incredible clientele, the surrounds of the LFE organisation, the enthusiastic and passionate staff and the amazing facilities on offer.
The pair then went to Meryl's on Main where they were able to have a look at one of the many organisations which helps the LFE clientele to gain workplace experience, develop new skills and bolster their confidence.
Mr and Mrs Hurley then went to the early intervention centre, where Governor David Hurley sat with some of the children and engaged in conversation and activities.
“I could stay here all day, this is wonderful,” Governor Hurley said.
The tour of LFE wrapped up at the homing facilities where Governor David Hurley noted how beautiful it was.
In the afternoon Governor Hurley and Mrs Hurley went out to the Bundilla Poll homestead, a leading ram source and seedstock business focused on maximising ewe efficiency for the Australian sheep industry, based a few kilometres on the outskirts of Young on Tubbul Road.
The Governor was given a hands on experience of how operation work at the business and the incredible effort and work that goes into running and working at Bundilla Poll Stud.
Their tour of the region moved to Temora on Saturday with the Governor and Mrs Hurley attending the Warbirds Downunder 2018, based massive event held at the Temora Aviation Museum.
