Nicole last year had Christmas lunch with two people she met through social media so they wouldn’t have to spend the special day alone, and she’s again looking forward to sharing Christmas lunch with someone, or persons, who if not for Nicole, might be spending it alone.
“Last year I decided to reach out to a mother and son, I asked them if they wanted to have lunch with my partner and I so that they wouldn’t be alone on Christmas day,” Nicole said.
“Now I want to do it every year, because why not?”
Nicole is also offering her vacant room at home to people who need a “quick escape” or safe place to stay.
She said she knows what it’s like to need somewhere safe to stay having a been a victim of domestic of violence at a point in her life.
“I would like to be able to offer my vacant room to those who need it in those times where they have no where else to go.
“And they will know that they are safe in my home,” she said.
