Organisers say the ultimate goal of the competition is to create pathways for regional skateboarders after skateboarding has, for the first time, been included in the Olympics for the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Heats of the competition are being held in Manildra, Bathurst, Parkes, Orange, Dubbo, Cowra, Millthorpe and Mudgee.
Regional champions will be crowned during a final in Orange on the January 20, 2019 acting as a qualifier for state titles.

“There are four divisions per competition, so essentially anyone and everyone, at a cost of $5 per entry,” the Office of Sport spokesperson said.
Competitors will be split into four divisions, U12s mixed, U16s mixed, Womens and Opens.
Skateboarding, scootering and BMX riding will feature dependent on interest.
