After 650 runners turned out last year, organiser Mel Ford is hoping close to 1000 people venture to Young’s Chinese Tribute Garden on Sunday and take part in either the 10km or 5km Cherry Chase or the more social 2.5km Colour Run.
“We’re very excited,” Mel said.

This is the second year the Cherry Chase and the Colour Run has been a combined event.
In previous years the Cherry Chase was an individual event and had been run twice in 2014 and 2015.
The Colour Run was something introduced by former Cherry Queen Jemma Long in 2016.
That year, it was part of the Cherry Festival but now it’s an annual community event held jointly with the Cherry Chase.
Registrations are still open and can be taken early on Sunday morning or at Sportspower on Saturday.
The 10km run is set to start at 8.45am with the 2.5km Colour Run scheduled for an 11am start.
Laser tag will also be happening throughout the day.
