With Christmas fast approaching it’s time for locals to get their singing voices ready with Carols by Candlelight to be held on Sunday, December 23 at Carrington Park.

Held by the combined churches of Young this year’s message will be presented by Reverend Neil Percival from St John’s Anglican Church.
Once again the Carols by Candlelight will be joined with the New Life Church Family Fun Festival which will kick off from 6pm and will once again include lots of games and fun for the whole family.

The free barbecue on the night will be run by the Young Baptist Church and New Life Church will be entertaining the crowds with a puppet show.
From 7.30pm the Salvation Army will be giving a Timbrels performance before the carols will kick off at 8pm.
The carols will be led by the Combined Churches Choir and the Young Town Band who will be conducted by Rodney Clancy.
Candles will be available to purchase on the night thanks to the Presbyterian church.
“Christmas is about peace, contrary to many people’s experience, and transcendent joy,” New Life Church’s Emma Calvert said.
“Carols by Candlelight is an opportunity to celebrate the peace and joy we have in our lives and to share it with our community.”
Locals are encouraged to bring along a chair and blanket and enjoy the Christmas ambiance with friends and family in the iconic park and join in the fun as the community celebrates the Christmas season together.
