A Sydney real estate director has kindly raised $3000 for three local farming families battling dry conditions on the land.

Sarah Latham from Latham Cusack Property flew to Young on Wednesday to deliver $1000 worth of vouchers to the three families respectively.
Each family was given a $300 voucher for IGA and a $700 voucher to spend at Elders.
Sarah, whose parents live on a small property in Young, is trying to educate people in Sydney of the severity of the drought in Western NSW.

While there has been lots of media coverage, Sarah said people in the city don’t understand how bad the situation is.
The money was raised through Go Fund Me which allowed Sarah to share her fundraiser on social media.
“It’s about making people aware. If you get rain in Sydney, it doesn’t mean you’re getting rain here. And if you do get rain here it may not have a big impact,” she said.
“I’m happy with the amount we raised but I think we can do better so we’ll try and get more people to contribute.
“I’ll be back to visit my parents so I’ll come out again when we’ve hopefully raised more.”
The three families came from Tubbul, Quandialla and Bribbaree.
“Fortunately Elders has helped us get in touch with families that are struggling the most and they were able to suggest three families they felt are very needy,” she said.
“I’ve met one family today and they’re really, really struggling. It was actually quite emotional and although it wasn’t much money we were giving them, they were incredibly grateful.”
