Ms Thornhill was running a collection drive ahead of Christmas called 'It's In The Bag'.
The drive was for Share The Dignity - a homeless ladies charity looking after women in need through the distribution of personal hygiene products.
Last month, a collection point at IGA was set up to allow members of the community contribute a handbag and a gift for women or girls in need.

Karen said this year's collection was another success.
"Last year we had over 100 bags that we gave to the Crisis Accommodation Center and the Salvation Army and they were all discreetly distributed to women in need all within the Hilltops region," Karen said.
"A lot of the people who receive the bags are completely homeless, or they’re sufferers of domestic violence who can’t afford basic needs.
"So for somebody living on the streets or in extreme poverty, a bag of goodies at Christmas can do a huge thing for them and make them feel that they matter as well.
"These are things you go to the supermarket and buy for yourself, you don’t really think twice about the fact that there are women out there who can’t afford it," Karen said.
"The drive for this year is successful at an end, but Share The Dignity runs drives all round every year,” Karen added.

There are 85,000 homeless women in need of help this Christmas.
Many have fled domestic violence or experienced extreme poverty.
Share The Dignity say they want to make them feel special, and with the support of local communities, it makes the task much easier.
The collection began on November 16 and went through till December 2.
