Lucie braved a shave for a special cause that is close to her heart as way of contributing funds to the Young Mercy Care Centre for the much needed upgrades to its palliative care unit.

Lucie works at the centre and wanted to do her part to help raise money, even if that meant saying farewell to her healthy shiny brunette locks. The shave raised over $500 that will be put with other donations raised throughout the year for palliative care.
“I have family and friends and people who work here who have cancer and we have been raising funds for palliative care anyway so i figured why not,” Lucie said.
“It feels a bit strange having your head shaved, but it’s just hair and it will grow back quickly. It’s a good cause and people need palliative care and it’s not just raising funds, it’s raising awareness,” Lucie said.
Generous donations have been made to the unit throughout the year from various people and places.
