In a coup for the Museum a beautifully crafted costume of the Mongolia Ethnic Group in Australia from the Chinese Embassy is now on display at the local museum for locals to view.
“The Museum was delighted to receive it,” local historian Brian James said.
“It is an excellent example of Chinese craftsmanship and will be a great addition to our collection.”

Museum representatives Mr James and Kate Sheehan were presented the costume by Chinese Tourism Officer at Hilltops Council, Audrey Liu on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Canberra.
Late last year the Chinese Consulate General visited the Museum when he came to Young and found the displays to be very interesting.
“All that is needed now is some generous store owner or interested person to donate a couple of mannequins or the money to purchase them,” Mr James said.
The Lambing Flat Folk Museum is in need of a dress mannequin, dress form or something similar so they may put the beautiful outfits on display.
