“Any nurses who trained at the hospital in Young to send in their RSVPs by March 10 for the May 25 and 26 event,” one organiser Joy Cameron said.
According to Mrs Cameron over 170 invitations have been sent out with a slow response so far.
“The nurses are spread all over Australia but most locals and Canberra nurses we haven’t heard from yet,” Mrs Cameron said.

Mrs Cameron and the committee would like to continue the success of the previous reunions by reminding any staff member who worked at the hospital, not necessarily only in the position of a nurse, to join them at the afternoon tea from 2pm at Hennessy Catholic College on Dundas Street on May 25.
At 6pm on May 25 mass will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church followed by a dinner at the Young Services Club for the nurses and their partners where ‘special guest’ entertainers will keep everyone entertained.
On Sunday, May 26 at 10am there will be an optional recovery brunch at Urban Retreat on Lynch Street open for everyone.
Replies and RSVPs are due to close on March 10.
The reunions have been run every five years according to Mrs Cameron with former staff travelling from across the country and even the globe to catch up and reminisce at the events.

Nurses and anyone else who has previously worked at the hospital between 1911 and 1984 have been cordially invited to attend the meet and greet at Hennessy College on Saturday, May 25 at 1.30pm.
Mrs Cameron said anyone who worked at the Sacred Heart Mercy Hospital, including nursing, domestic and office staff, are also very welcome to attend the afternoon tea.
The committee would like to give a huge thanks to the Young Services Club for their generous cash donation in October last year that has gone towards the expenses of the organisation for the event, and for the cost of printing the invitations and postage.
If any of the nurses or staff from between 1911 and 1984 would like to attend either both or part of the events they are encouraged to contact either Joy Cameron or Noela Hardman on the above phone numbers to discuss the logistics.
The event is being organised by a small but energetic and enthusiastic nurses group in which includes, Nancy McGregor, Val Patterson, Noela Hardman, Ann Symons, Sue Rolls and Joy Cameron.
For any further information or to confirm your spot at the reunion weekend contact Joy Cameron 0263822762 or Noela Hardman on 0263827127.
