Young born NRL Cowboys player Jordan McLean has withdrawn from the Harvey Norman All Stars due to the ongoing uncertainty around the flooding and weather conditions in North Queensland. Severe flash flooding has caused extreme chaos in Townsville recently, causing the Cowboys prop to make a hard decision to remain at home. Melbourne Storm forward Kenny Bromwich will come into the team in place of McLean, joining his brother Jesse.
Bevan French has replaced Ben Barba in the Indigenous side, while Josh Kerr has been called up to replace the Ryan James due to Ryan having been injured.
This is a major set back for McLean having come into the new year in promising shape.
McLean was restricted to just 10 NRL games last season after suffering a Lisfranc injury and was out during recovery.
However, the choice to sit this one out may be McLeans best option considering the state of the grounds. According to commentators the last thing McLean wants or needs is another injury to have to take time out to mend.
