The ride has been organised by James Lambshead to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Mr Lambshead was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2018.
He says the ride is a chance to help an organisation that had supported him.
“Last year I got really crook and thought I had a stomach bug, ended up having a blood test and finding out I had leukaemia,” he said.
“The Leukaemia Foundation is a great thing, I didn’t know they existed until I was diagnosed.
“Talking to them was the last thing I thought about when I got my diagnosis but they said straight away ‘we’re here to help you,’ which was fantastic.
“I’m now on chemotherapy tablets and I’ll be on them for a few years, before hopefully I can go off them, I’m one of the lucky ones, all I’m hoping to do is help them (the Leukaemia Foundation) out and people who are worse off compared to me,” he said.
James’ sister Erin Lambshead said her brother’s diagnosis came as a shock to the family, adding she is proud of the work he is doing.
“It was scary, no one else in the family has had this before,” she said.
“The doctors reassured us that he could be treated and once he found out his diagnosis, he got in contact with the Leukaemia Foundation who were very supportive.
“He wanted to pay them back and because he’s always loved bikes and been involved with them, he came up with this idea.
“I’m really proud of him, this is going to help others and repay everything the Leukaemia Foundation has done for him,” she said.
Mr Lambshead's friend and co-organiser Michael Hill said he was hoping to see as many people as possible take part in the ride.
“We’re holding it on the Saturday so they don’t have to turn around and go home straight away,” he said.
“There’s camping available here so they can bring swags and make it a family day.
“You see a lot of people go through leukaemia and it makes you stop and think how lucky you are."
Entry is $25 with the ride leaving the Koorawatha Hotel at 10am.
The first stop is Wallandbeen then Coolac for lunch, which is included in the entry fee. The ride will continue to Harden before stopping at Wombat and then returning to the Koorawatha Hotel.
Both a barbecue breakfast and dinner will be held on the day. Local band Beating Time will provide entertainment throughout the evening. Raffles will be held all day with prizes generously donated by businesses from Cowra and Young.
