Young Police Sgt Paul Colefax said that multiple calls were made to the Young Police station on Friday, February 8 regarding reckless drivers, but due to no registrations being able to be put forward, no action was able to be taken.
“People need to get the registration of the vehicle so that identification of the driver can be made,” Sgt Colefax said.
“People also need to realise that they will need to be prepared to make a statement and go to court as the witness of the act in order for those drivers to be prosecuted.
“We do urge assistance from the community however,” SgtColefax said.
The behaviour of local drivers has been attracting comment on social media.
One community member took to social media expressing his frustration after a vehicle allegedly drifted his car along Milong street.
“No ones impressed by you, grow up,” the resident posted.
Just hours later, another resident posted a similar experience that made her blood boil.
The social media user posted she had had enough after witnessing two cars attempting to race down the busy and crowded streets close to the Young CBD.
“William Street, along the school, is not a race track,” the post said.
“You morons are racing past at a million miles an hour in your loud horrible cars."
