Residents on Brock Street witnessed a spectacular spurt of water emerge as a burst main caused water outages in Young on Thursday afternoon.

The spurt of water was estimated to be as high as eight metres and was seen spraying above cars and power lines for about half an hour.
Council workers responded to the incident about 6pm as water streamed downhill between Taylor Road and McLerie Street.
The main break was repaired by about 8pm.
