Last year's popular fundraising event raised more than $60,000 for the Cancer Council.
Cancer Council Wagga and Regional Community Relationships Coordinator Christine Williams said the money is accumulated from charities run by participants through their journey, such as head shaving and barbecues, and from the event ticket purchases.
"Locally, some of the money will go towards transport treatment, meaning that if somebody from Young has cancer, we will actually be able to transport them to treatment free of charge, and if they have to stay in Wagga for a week or two they will actually be able to stay at a place called Lilier Lodge, which is really heavily subsidised," Ms Williams said.
"We would also be able to aid families in times of financial hardships. Say if they had an electricity bill they needed to pay, we could do that for them.
"These funds also allow us to be able to produce new cancer treatments," she said.
This year Cancer Council are aiming to top the total number raised in Young and hopefully ultimately draw an even bigger audience to the special performance night, and to the dress rehearsal night which people are also able to come and watch.
Dance instructor and local dance talent Leanne Simms has donated her time over the next eight weeks to train this year's local stars, working around their schedules to prepare them for their big performance.
"Everyone is affected at some point and in some way by cancer, so it is a charity everyone should get behind," Leanne said.
"Unfortunately I don't have thousands of dollars to donate, but I do have my time."
She encouraged other members of the public to help in whichever ways possible.
"Hair and makeup if you're a hairdresser, or helping to put together outfits."
Nominations to dance at this year's fundraiser on June 14 close on Monday, March 11.
