It was a testament to the quality and performance of the Glenfinnan Prime Lamb Genetics to see repeat and new buyers gathered for the fifth annual ram sale on Friday, Februray 8 conducted on farm at Bullaworrie, Young.

A total of 97 rams were offered, with a 75 per cent clearance and a sale average of $955.
The top price Ram of the day was purchased by repeat buyer JR and JL McIntosh of Laggan, for $2000.
The same purchaser purchased three rams on the day to average $1367.

David Hazell manager for MFA Elsegood of Bookham bought three rams to average $1300.
“We are very happy with the Glenfinnan PLG Rams, we have been able to grow excellent fast growing lambs that meet the expectation of our buyers," he said.
"We have repeat buyers who compete annually for our store lambs in the Yass District Circuit Sale every November. They grow them out and are at prime heavy weights come February”.
New purchasers Goorama Pty Ltd, Galong, purchased six rams to average $1084 with a top price purchase of $1700. Markdale Station Binda purchased again, for the second year, five rams to average $1100 with a top purchase price of $1600.

New purchasers AA and TA Jarrott Bribbaree purchased three rams to average $1067 with a top purchase price of $1600.
Volume buyers James Watson Portadown Past Co purchased six rams to average $885, Tumbleton Partnership Wallendbeen purchased five rams to average $900, new purchasers R and S McLelland purchased five rams to average $880, P and E Lyne Cootamundra purchased five rams to average $820 and Stoneridge Past Co Young purchased four rams to average $950.
Agent Phill Butt of Butt Livestock and Property said: “That although ewe numbers are down this year due to seasonal conditions it was evident in the attendance of repeat and many new buyers that Glenfinnan Prime Lamb Genetics is performing where it counts.”
The sale was conducted by Butt Livestock and Property with guest auctioneer Angus McHattan from Riverina Livestock Agents Wagga.
