The black and reds are, according to Cup president Andrew Pull, financially stable but have lacked enough commitment from players to form a sustainable roster in first grade.

The Bears finished seventh in 2018, winning three games, but picked up the wooden spoon in seasons 2017, 2016 and 2015.

Pull said a new draw is expected to be ratified at a cup meeting on Tuesday night, with Burrangong's place in the schedule to be replaced by a bye.

Pull said it's disappointing to lose any club weeks out from the regular season but to have the Bears fold was a blow.

"They're really important to Woodbridge Cup because they're our link to the past," Pull said.

"Burrangong is an original club, whereas a lot of the teams we have now were originally part of the old Group 11 second division.

"We hope they're back in 2020 but that's up to them."

He believes the club has had close to a dozen girls attend league tag training but the number of first graders attending sessions in the pre-season is less than that.

"And you can't have that in Woodbridge anymore … it's too long a season and we need commitment before the year kicks off," Pull added.

"You can't say we've got 10 maybes."

The opening round of the 2019 Woodbridge Cup season is Sunday, March 31.

Manildra will the bye first-up, while returning club Molong will travel to Condobolin to mark their return to the cup competition.

Grenfell plays Eugowra, Canowindra tackles premiers Trundle and Cargo will host Peak Hill in other round one games.
