Close to 40 donkeys and mules were on display throughout the two days at the Young Showground, some handlers travelling from Queensland, Victoria, Central Coast, ACT, and the New England area.
This was the fifth year that the national show has been held in the Cherry Capital.
It's expected to be held in Queensland next year.
Barry Emmett won the two major awards up for grabs including the Supreme Donkey and High Point Performance Donkey.
He won both with his mammoth donkey Abe.
Local Kristy Robinson and her daughter won the Under 12 Hands Donkey and American Miniature Donkey awards.
Organisers thanked Young Pony Club for the use of its facilities and the Wombat Equestrian Group for its help during the event.
The National Donkey and Mule Show is hoped to return to Young in 2021.
