Last year's special guests Bryan Fletcher and Nathan Wood recently stuck solid to their promise to play golf a group of winning auction bidders, who purchased a round of golf with the former NRL stars for $4000.
The group of eight played at The Coast course in Sydney on Friday, March 8.
Young Cherrypickers president Garry Lucas praised Fletcher and Wood for taking time to put back into rugby league in the country, and assisting the Young Cherrypickers rugby league club.
"Bryan and Nat understand the importance of fostering rugby league in the country and have been selfless and magnanimous with their support of the Cherrypickers," he said.
"Two better guys you would not meet and they just keep donating their time and helping out. The Young Cherrypickers are forever grateful and these two legends are welcome in Young anytime they want."
Once again, the annual luncheon is in preparation as the rugby league season quickly approaches.
Minichiello is expected to be another entertaining guest. During a 14 year career, he played more than 300 games for the Sydney Roosters, 19 Tests for Australia and made 11 appearances for NSW Blues in State of Origin.
"The luncheon is a significant event for the Cherrypickers. With 270 attendees, the luncheon builds camaraderie and club spirit as well as raising much needed funds required to run a country rugby league club," committee member Emily Richens said.
This year's Young Rugby League Club annual Men's Luncheon will be held on Friday, July 5.
