Set up at Carrington Park, the day was aimed at providing families, with children zero to 12 years of age, with information about transitioning to school, activities and events that are targeted for that age group, family support and parenting information, medical and health information and also daycare options.
It also included activities like face painting, a reading space with teepee and interactive and sensory play stations.

The day was made possible by funding through Family and Community Services, which provides funding to the Hilltops Hub to organise something similar each year.
"This year we decided that as there are so many existing and new services in Hilltops that families may be having difficulty navigating the service system. We were also keen to hold something that wasn't sterile or indoors so kids and families could stretch out, have a bite and enjoy an outing together at the same time as receiving information," Hilltops Community Hub manager Naomi Peters said.

If you couldn't get to the Families Expo and would like information about services in town, Naomi encourages people to reach out to the Hub.
"The Community Hub itself is funded to provide a myriad of services including early intervention, parenting programs, self-interest courses, events and socially inclusive activities but we are also a one-stop shop for information and referral," she said. The Hub can be contacted on 63826328.
