Lock car doors is the message from Young Police Acting Inspector Michael Madgwick following a string of vehicle thefts and stealings on Sunday night.

Police are investigating two motor vehicle thefts and three incidents of stealing from a vehicle between 9pm on Sunday night and 10am on Monday morning.
Acting Inspector Michael Madgwick urges Young residents to be vigilant when it comes to the threat of opportunistic crime.
"These criminals aren't smart. I can guarantee they tried to open several other vehicles that night which were locked," Michael Madgwick said.
"All vehicles involved were unlocked. They didn't damage the vehicle to gain entry."
Small amounts of cash, power tools, clothing, purses and wallets were some of the items thieves took during the overnight spate of stealing.
A black Holden utility was stolen from Fontenoy Street and a white Toyota Hilux was taken from Forsythe Avenue.
The Hilux was later located crashed against a tree on Tumbleton Lane about 6am on Monday, while the black utility was found in the orchards near Elizabeth and Iandra Street.
Two cars parked on Martin Close had cash stolen while one had a cordless drill taken.
A small amount of cash was taken from a vehicle parked on Forsythe Avenue, and a wallet and handbag containing personal items was taken from a car on Whiteman Avenue.
Mr Madgwick also reminded people to not leave keys in the ignition of vehicles.
Police are investigating all incidents and believe they are related.
No arrests had been made on Tuesday morning.
