While there is still no official date for the opening, work is progressing well on the refurbishment and fit-out of the building, located in the History Hall next to the museum in Murrumburrah.
The centre will be chiefly staffed by volunteers and open seven days from 10am to 4pm. More details from Cathy Sanderson (0429 129 055) or Jan Ryan (0408 268 307).
Hilltops Invitation
People living in the Hilltops region are being invited to register for this year's Cherry Queen and King competition.
With 2019 marking the 70 th year of the festival, there are many plans for celebrations. These include a gala ball in November where all former queens, kings and charity queens and kings will be invited to take part.
In 2019 the competition is open to all people over 18 years living in the region. Please register your interest.
Tourism Workshops
Three bicycle tourism workshops will be held in the Hilltops region from 7pm to 8.30pm in Young, Boorowa and Harden council chambers this month. The workshops are at Young on Monday May 20, Boorowa on Tuesday May 21 and Harden on Wednesday May 22. Topics include opportunities and benefits for local businesses.
Request for Tickets
The Cherry Blossom Long Table Lunch, held annually in a flowering cherry orchard in the Hilltops region, will again be held this year and already inquiries are being made and tickets sought.
The event is set for Sunday September 22, with the exact location of the mystery orchard still under discussion.
Staff at Young Visitor Information Centre are taking names for a wait list, and tickets selling at $80 per person should go on sale soon.
