Played under lights at Hall Bros Oval on Saturday, the Lions execution in front of goal was outstanding throughout the 90 minutes of the Pascoe Cup tie, the hosts racing to a four goal lead at the break then adding a further six to their tally before the final whistle.
Anderson was one of three players to find the back of the net multiple times as Isaac Hines and skipper Duncan Cameron both registered doubles.
The result marks Young's third straight victory and keeps their unbeaten run since round one intact.
Duncan Cameron was hugely pleased with the win.
"It's good to beat a side like that," he said.
"The past few seasons we've always had to grind out 1-0 wins, so it's good to score a heap."
Hines put Young ahead after 10 minutes before goals by Henry Reynolds, Pat Hislop and the first of three for Anderson gave Young a resounding 4-0 lead at halftime.
Cameron and Anderson scored second-half doubles to seal the victory, with Hines and Eli Juma also finding the back of the net during the final 45 minutes.
"You're always expecting a tough game. Cootamundra is struggling this year but you never go into a game expecting to win like that," Cameron said.
"That's two in a row for us now and with a forfeit as well it's pretty much three wins in a row. We haven't lost since round one so it's good to see things are coming together."
Young will be tested this weekend at Wagga when they come up against an undefeated Wagga United outfit.
It's scheduled to be played on Saturday night.
In other games, third grade defeated Henwood Park 3-1, fourth grade had a 3-1 win over South Wagga and the ladies' Lions were kept scoreless in their 7-0 loss to ladder leaders Tolland.
The ladies are at home this Sunday while all other grades head to Wagga for away games.
