The free event will be hosted at 'Cumnock Farm' owned by Murray and David Walker 9km out of Grenfell on the Young Road at 4283 Henry Lawson Way, Grenfell.
Internationally recognised natural grazing expert Dick Richardson will be sharing his 20 years of experience on the subject as well as delivering a practical and engaging workshop designed to enable land managers to make effective decisions around landscape management.
The workshop will focus on the effect of management changes on ecology, gaining insight into the failure of grazing systems, holistic and cell grazing - working, failing and stagnation, the importance of soil depth on profitability and practical ways to increase it, using animals to build soil depth and maturity, the relationship between management decisions and landscape function, sole, toe, ankle and calf method of feed assessment, an introduction to the Maia computer program and how it can help with whole property grazing plans and monitor grazing history.
Dick has over 20 years of experience in grazing management and stock farming.
There will also be a question and answer session during a paddock walk.
Anyone wishing to attend the free event is asked to RSVP as soon as possible for catering purposes with meals provided.
